The short version: original files are never uploaded to or held by WDY; we use no tracking cookies; verify pages publish only the fingerprints and metadata that the submitter has declared.
wdy.org is the international site of the WDY network — an independent provenance-attestation infrastructure and industry network for AI-era short-form video, run by a practitioner project group in data, AI production and cross-border content. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the data controller for wdy.org is its operator, contactable at hello@wdy.org.
1) Submissions (Certified records). When you submit a work, only the manifest JSON — the file fingerprint (SHA-256) plus the metadata you declare (title, type, production mode, rights claims, contact for delivery) — is sent to us. The file itself never leaves your device. We process submissions to review and issue records and to operate the public verify pages.
2) Published records. Each record's verify page is public and permanent by design (records are never deleted; corrections are added as annotations). It displays the declared metadata, fingerprints, and — where anchored — third-party anchor details concerning the fingerprint only. Your contact details are not shown on the public page.
3) Newsletter. If you subscribe to the Weekly Brief, we process your email address to send it. Every email includes an unsubscribe route, and you can also write to hello@wdy.org at any time. We never sell or share the list.
4) Operational logs. Like most sites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard security and operations logs (e.g. IP address, user-agent) for a limited period, for security and availability purposes.
Where the EU GDPR applies: records and correspondence — performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in operating the service; newsletter — your consent (withdrawable at any time); security logs — legitimate interest in protecting the service.
Issued records are retained permanently — that permanence is the service itself (a verifiable record). Correspondence and newsletter data are kept until the matter closes or you unsubscribe / request deletion, whichever comes first.
Depending on your jurisdiction you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or object to processing — write to hello@wdy.org. A note on records: because issued records are immutable and never deleted, corrections to record data are made by annotation (see Rules §5). The public page carries metadata only — never your submitted files.
We use no advertising or analytics cookies. Verify pages store a language preference in your browser's localStorage. Form submissions are delivered to us through web3forms.com as a processing provider; the subscribe address is used only to send the brief.
